Siemens set out to create a centre dedicated to urban sustainability for the general public, school groups and potential customers from around the world. But rather than being a brand centre in the typical sense, it was to showcase ideas and technologies that exist today and could be implemented to create a more sustainable future.

Dan led the exhibition design team, developed the narrative with Siemens departments and created the soundtrack for the immersive Forces of Change theatre, which was the starting point of the experience. He conducted interviews with the building design team, for an exhibit that told the story of how a BREEAM outstanding/LEED platinum facility is designed and built (it was the first of its kind to achieve this accreditation in the UK at the time).

The exhibition was divided into 14 zones looking at urban planning, energy production, water supply, transportation, building design and green tech, plus a look into the future. A waterfall and tank feature, visitor activated Tesla coil and a real living green wall augmented the total experience with attractor features.

The exhibition has sadly now closed, but is due to become the new London Mayor’s building later in 2021.
